So I took my first outdoor run today and it was fantastic, and fast. Its was a comedy of errors getting to it. I ran a few errands and planned to hit the canal trail for a 1 mile run. I arrived , managed to disassemble my car key chain, so I could run with just a single key, put on all my gear, and started my nike+ipod. I jumped on the trail to find it completely unplowed. I figured what the hell and tried to run through it. I made it 100 yards and realized it would not work. Back to the car I went. I got home and took to the local streets. It always feels so much better running outside. I am also much faster outside. I actually logged another personal best mile. I got home eager to upload my results to find I have yet another iPod fail. It is stuck in a locked state. Hopefully Apple will fix it since I just had it replaced a few months ago.
Oh yeah, new cozy slippers came in the mail today too!

Running
So I decided last year I would take up running. It was a necessary part of Triathlon training, but I never really trained, I just ran and walked, and that was all. I ran most of the 5K in the Tri, and then this December, I also did a stand alone 5K, which I did in about 34″ which was not bad. I walked a little, but now I am targeting a different beast, a sprint Duothon. Run 2 Miles, Ride 10 Miles and Run another 2 Miles. I intended to Run all of it. Following training guidelines, I am fully running 1 mile a day this week. Next week I will increase by 10% and continue for the upcoming weeks till I can do the 5K and the Dualthon at a full run. I am also doing , about 4 miles on the bike after my runs, so as to keep the training going in the right direction.
Tuxedo shopping
So today I came to the realisation that I have fallen off the wagon. On a good note, I have not gained any weight, but I have not lost any. I am going to re-invigorate this week I am setting a 3 lb goal for this week. I need to get going. 3 months and 2 weeks left. At a minimum I have 10 lbs to lose before the wedding, realistically I have 30 lbs to go till I am at my own “ideal” weight.
Today I had a great day with Chris. We went shopping for the grooms mans tux’s. I cannot believe we have almost finished the major wedding planning. The only thing left is arranging the limo / shuttle and to finalise the hotel for out of town guests. Its all coming together, and I am starting to get excited. 🙂

Great Day
So today was my first day in my new job, and it was awesome. Drove to Ma and met my team and everyone was great. Now I’m waiting for a prescreening of Tron with Chris, and TDC. Thanks Dawn!
Sore Shoulders
So I downloaded a new tracking sheet for P90x Lean program and updated all of my workouts. I realized that I basically had taken a number of days out doing other exercises. In fact I ran 5K in 27 degree weather, and finished in under 35 minutes. So I decided to go back and do week 4 again, which started with what is hands down the hardest workout for me … Yoga X. It is a grueling 90 minute workout that is hell on the shoulders and core. I did that workout Sunday and here I am on Tuesday and my shoulders still hurt. I persevered yesterday and did the Core Synergistics, and tonight after I digest my dinner a bit I will go down and do Kenpo X. Alas , I just realized that I have to do the Yoga X AGAIN this week. 🙁
Tomorrow, will be a busy day…Driving to MA…. Starting a new job…..and seeing Tron.
